Back in the early 60's if you were walking down Court Street in down town Brooklyn with a Hero in your hand with peppers and onions hanging out of it, you can bet your last dollar you got it at Chubby Mary's.In 1961 down on Court Street in the Red Hook Section of Brooklyn now called Carroll Gardens, our Grandfather, Dominick Casale and his son our Uncle Tommy Casale opened up a Hero Shop called Chubby Mary's. They served the same food that they would put on their own kitchen table at home. They believed in the power of peppers and onions.
Now over 50 years later, we are bringing that same tradition back to the East Village. Hot home-spun Italian American Heroes made to order with the same love and care our Grandfather and Uncle put into every hero they served.
Our mission is to get those peppers back on the streets of New York and we wont stop until the new generation understands what peppers and onions can do.
